Bought a timber frame from Maple a couple of years ago. They were a great help during the design process and we can say now that the end result is all they promised, a super house with high insulation values and low heating bills, well done Maple!

The chosen frame was the standard Maple 90mm design, which was filled with90mm of mineral wool. Though Maple also offer a 140mm frame with higher levels of insulation, Graham and Suzanna’s house achieved an energy efficiencySAP rating of 99 out of 100, so they feel they made the right choice

The Parkyns were determined not to cut corners, and visited some of the Maple’sprevious clients, talking to them about the service. Chris wanted Maple to obtain building regulation consent, supply and erect the frame, and provide the second fix carpentry, but preferred to subcontract out to the various other trades and purchase further materials for himself.

Maple Timber Frame helped the Nozedars throughout their project – liaising with the planners and adapting the plans. They had designed the chalet bungalow from the outside, in order to meet all planning requirements.

After tendering to three timber frame companies the Spraggana chose Maple TimberFrame, who returned the cheapest quote and was the only company prepared to create a totally bespoke frame to Keith Cattell’s design

The Hansons started by visiting timber frame show homes. They found that many of the designs had vertical wooden posts as standard. While they could see their charm, they could also imagine the bumped heads and tears. The absence of posts was the initial attraction to timber frame manufacturer, Maple. ‘We also like Maple because they were a small, friendly company’ said Caroline. ‘It was great to see the company director, Philip Price, take such an active, hands-on interest in our project.’

The classic stone portico over the front door was created by a specialist firm of stonemasons, Faussets near Blackpool in Lancashire, recommended by Maple. Even allowing for transport costs (to Cambridgeshire), we reckon that we would have had to pay two or three times the price to have had the portico built locally.

The erection of the timber-frame was a model of efficiency. The three-man teamarrived mid morning . . . and by the end of the first day already had the frame erectedto first floor level. The entire job took just one week.

I have a complete distrust of tradesmen, which helped us to decide on a buildingusing timber-frame. It is such a quick process, which gives a weathertight shellwithin a few days.

We wanted to build in timber-frame because it would be quicker than brick and block. We also wanted a house with good thermal values. We wanted apackage company that would give us support all the way through the project, so we simply worked our way through the Build It list of package companies and contracted seven or eightwho sounded suitable

Lynn and Audrey had visited the Homebuilding & Renovating Show together and hadboth been impressed by Maple Timber Frame, who worked with them to develop theirideas into workable designs. They were interesting to talk to and interested in what wehad to say, but what really clinched it was their flexibility. We weren’t prepared tocompromise on our design.

We were on site before the full tendering process for the timber frame was complete.We went to about eight companies and based on a combination of cost and reportsfrom others before deciding on Maple.
